Pure PT High Performance, low impact

Pure PT is the next-generation turf system, designed without performance infill and developed through athlete-centric research. It combines natural grip and comfort with high system stability, offering elite playability with significantly lower environmental and operational impact. From installation to end-of-life, Pure PT redefines how synthetic turf performs and how long it lasts.

This video explains the Pure PT product. Note that in the USA, the product is called Pivot. Same product, same system, different name.

1. Athlete-Centered by Design

The development of Pure PT was driven by biomechanical research and validated through real athlete testing. Based on data from movement analysis, acceleration dynamics, and joint load distribution, the system is designed to support natural movement while minimizing physical strain. Directional grip, underfoot softness, and surface stability are tuned for the demands of elite-level football, resulting in a more responsive, intuitive playing experience under match-like conditions.

2. Infill-Free by Design

Pure PT removes the need for rubber or sand infill, without compromising performance. A reinforced and multidirectional yarn system provides traction and stability while maintaining underfoot softness. The surface stays clean, consistent, and safe, match after match, season after season. By eliminating performance infill, Pure PT also removes many of the common maintenance and hygiene challenges faced by players, coaches, and facility operators.

3. Athlete-Validated.

Pure PT was not released before being tested and iterated across more than 50 development cycles. Installations at top-tier training facilities, including PSV Academy, served as live validation platforms. These environments provided data under real match conditions, enabling TenCate to calibrate the system based on empirical feedback from players, coaches, and sports scientists.

4. More hours of play

Even after years of intensive use, Pure PT maintains its playability. Thanks to the engineered fiber combination and dense, multidirectional construction, the system retains its grip, shock absorption, and surface stability with minimal performance drop-off over time.

Designed for all-weather reliability, Pure PT delivers consistent, safe play 24 hours a day, 365 days a year — whether in heat, rain, or frost. Soft underfoot and stable in movement, it supports peak performance in any condition.

5. Efficient to Install. Low in Maintenance.

Pure PT simplifies logistics and streamlines operations. Without the need for infill transport, distribution, or calibration, the system reduces on-site complexity and installation time. Fewer materials mean fewer variables, resulting in faster project delivery and reduced environmental impact during construction. Once installed, the surface requires minimal maintenance: no infill leveling, no granulate cleanup, and no material top-ups. It is a closed system, stable by design.

This not only lowers total cost of ownership, but also improves play quality and operational predictability throughout the system’s lifecycle.

6. Proven Durability

High performance means little without longevity. Pure PT exceeds industry benchmarks for wear resistance, stability retention, and structural integrity over time. Its durability has been validated through extensive laboratory testing and continuous high-intensity use in live environments. The system is built to retain both functional and aesthetic performance throughout its lifecycle.

Validated in the Field

Pure PT is not a prototype — it is a fully validated system. Developed over five years and refined through more than 50 iterations, it has progressed through all nine Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), from initial concept to large-scale deployment. The system has been extensively tested in both Europe and North America, from the PSV FieldLab in the Netherlands to competitive match and training environments in the United States.

Validation included biomechanical testing, movement analysis, structured athlete feedback, and intensive wear trials under real-world conditions. This thorough process ensures Pure PT consistently delivers the performance it promises, under pressure, across disciplines, and in all seasons.

Trusted for Different Reasons.

Pure PT is not only validated through testing — it’s embraced by the field. Since its launch, the system has been rapidly adopted in key markets across Europe and North America, each recognizing different advantages based on their local needs and playing conditions.

Pure PT is valued for its infill-free design, surface uniformity, and proven durability, making it ideally suited for both soccer and American football. In Scandinavia, the system’s all-weather reliability is essential: even in freezing conditions, it maintains stable grip and playability without compromising safety. In markets like Germany and Spain, the emphasis lies on long-term performance, low maintenance, and compatibility with circular procurement strategies.

Pure PT website:

We have created a dedicated Pure PT website. This website is a behind-the-scenes look at five years of innovation, testing, and learning. From the initial idea to the final pitch, from the lab to PSV’s Fieldlab, and from concept to a game-ready surface.

This site tells the story of performance, sustainability and innovation. Of a system built to last, with much lower maintenance demands. You’ll discover how biomechanics, player feedback and high-speed video helped us understand what athletes really need. And why players and coaches are now choosing Pure PT.
