PURE PT Pitch Installed in North Germany at SV Ahlerstedt / Ottendorf

Another milestone for non-infill turf systems in German football: the first German installation of GreenFields Pure PT has been completed in northern Germany at SV Ahlerstedt/Ottendorf, by Weitzel Sportstättenbau. The club decided to move forward with this 100% non-infill turf system after visiting the PSV FieldLab in the Netherlands, where they experienced Pure PT’s unique surface characteristics firsthand.

From Curiosity to Preference

The feedback from players and staff has been overwhelmingly positive. As Thorsten Meyer, Project & Sponsorship Manager at SV Ahlerstedt/Ottendorf, explains: “At first, players noticed the unfamiliar feel of the new Pure PT surface. But after only a few training sessions, they now insist on using the pitch for all training and matches. It’s simply outstanding. Even visiting teams have praised the playing experience and have expressed interest in installing a similar surface at their own clubs.”

What began as a novelty quickly became the new standard, a strong signal of how Pure PT performs in practice.

Comfort, Control and Consistency

Pure PT offers a natural playing experience with no infill. Its engineered yarn system delivers excellent grip and comfort, while goalkeepers have specifically highlighted the consistent feel and soft impact when diving. The surface combines athletic precision with low maintenance and long-term resilience, designed for clubs that demand reliability.

This project marks a major step for Pure PT in the German market and showcases the role of strong local partners like Weitzel in bringing innovative turf systems to the field.

Pure PT continues to gain traction across Europe and North America — from elite training centres to grassroots sports, setting a new standard for infill-free, high-performance turf.
