TenCate Grass invests in future-proof manufacturing in Abu Dhabi using IDEC cooling technology

In its brand-new facility at KEZAD, Abu Dhabi, TenCate Grass has implemented an advanced adiabatic cooling system from Dutch technology leader Oxycom. This technology replaces conventional air conditioning and marks a clear step toward greener, smarter manufacturing in a region where extreme heat and water scarcity are a constant challenge.

Natural Cooling, Lower Impact

Unlike conventional systems that rely on chemical refrigerants and high energy use, adiabatic cooling uses water evaporation to cool air naturally. The result? Significantly lower electricity consumption, reduced CO₂ emissions, and no harmful refrigerants. It’s a system that fits perfectly within TenCate Grass’s ESG goals and broader national strategies such as the UAE Green Agenda 2030.

Dutch Innovation Meets Local Expertise

The project was executed in partnership with Terrafic Energy, a UAE-based energy solutions firm. Their team handled the full technical design and integration, adapting Oxycom’s indirect/direct evaporative cooling (IDEC) technology to meet the specific demands of a high-performance manufacturing environment — while ensuring optimal environmental outcomes.

A Signal for What’s Next

For TenCate Grass, this investment is about more than operational efficiency. It’s a clear example of how sustainability and performance go hand in hand. By choosing innovative, responsible technologies — and collaborating across borders — the company continues to lead the way in building a cleaner, more resilient future for synthetic turf manufacturing.
