Trekboards increase sustainability of sports surfaces

As part of their tiger up! range of sustainable products for the sports, construction and landscape industries, TigerTurf in the UK have developed trekboards to surround synthetic turf infill pitches. The boards are primarily designed for infill retention and prevent infill mitigation to surrounding environment but also protect the turf from ingress of surrounding vegetation.

The trekboards are manufactured using 100% recycled materials, such as end-of-life artificial turf. In addition, the life span of the trekboards is over 50 years and at end-of-life, the trekboards can be recycled into new boards or other products.

By using trekboards instead of timber kickboards, the need to cut down trees is eliminated, as well as the use of any other virgin raw material. Also, these new boards lower ball noise by 20%.
